Summary:
The Sr. Director of Product Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive product marketing strategies to drive growth and awareness for the Baylor Genetics Product Portfolio, including Rare Disease, Reproductive Health, Oncology and more. This leadership role requires a strong understanding of the genetics and biotechnology landscape, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for advancing healthcare through genetic testing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading product marketing teams, creating and driving product strategies, and successfully executing go-to-market plans in high-growth, fast paced and highly matrixed healthcare organizations.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in product marketing roles, ideally within the healthcare, biotechnology, or genetic testing industries.
- 3+ years of management experience
- Professional experience in genetic testing, biotech, or healthcare marketing is required.
- Experience/Skills:
- Proven experience in developing and leading product marketing teams.
- Strong understanding of the most current technology and genetics.
- Strong understanding of the current genetic testing industry, customer key value drivers and societal recommendations and guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and content.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and work cross functionally with Marketing to execute marketing plans that align with business objectives.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, market trends, and customer insights.
- Experience in market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and other marketing tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the VP of Product and other senior leaders to develop Product Marketing Strategy.
- Work closely with Medical Affairs and Commercial leadership to develop and nurture relationships with key customers and KOLs.
- Work along and lead marketing Managers and Directors to develop product positioning, messaging, and value propositions that resonate with target audiences and differentiate our products in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with product to deliver product features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
- Execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches, including product positioning, pricing, packaging, and promotion.
- Develop commercial collateral and sales tools such as product datasheets, presentations, case studies, in collaboration with designers.
- Conduct market research to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive threats.
- Work closely with sales teams to enable them with effective messaging, training, and sales tools.
- Work with Marketing to track and measure the effectiveness of product messaging and adjust as needed.
- Attend scientific meetings to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the genetic testing industry to better inform compelling messaging.
- Other duties as requested by leadership.

- Frequently required to utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
- Occasionally required to travel to various company locations, client sites, or industry events.
