About This Internship
We are seeking a highly motivated AI & Data Science Intern to contribute to our AI-driven digital pathology initiatives. This internship provides an opportunity to work with large-scale biomedical datasets and deep learning models to extract meaningful insights from Whole Slide Images (WSIs). You will collaborate with our AI R&D and Data Engineering teams to integrate foundational embeddings into our data pipeline, enhancing the value of real-world data in pathology.
What You’ll Do
At a fast-moving startup like Proscia, you’ll have the chance to wear many hats, but your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing a functional prototype leveraging foundation model embeddings to extract biologically relevant features from WSIs.
- Designing and implementing scalable data processing pipelines, including feature extraction, quantification, and visualization.
- Analyzing extracted features to improve searchability, classification, and dataset insights in pathology AI applications.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate models and datasets into existing workflows.
- Documenting findings, methodologies, and results to contribute to team knowledge sharing.

- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Data Science, or related program.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with foundation models and their applications in AI and data science.
- Experience with data processing techniques, including cleaning, normalization, and feature engineering.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools to communicate insights effectively.
- A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
