We’re looking to hire an Associate Staff Fullstack Engineer to join our innovative team. This role offers the opportunity to lead and implement impactful cross-organizational technology initiatives, contributing to the future of fintech and Web3 in Africa.Job Type: Remote | Full-timeResponsibilitiesAs an Associate Staff Fullstack Engineer, you will:1.Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust, maintainable, and high-performance systems.
- Provide technical mentorship and facilitate architectural decisions for cross-functional teams.
- Align technical execution with business goals, planning and managing releases across teams.
2.Project Ownership
- Drive projects to completion by wearing many hats—taking on responsibilities across development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Take initiative in identifying technical gaps and propose innovative solutions to address them.
- Lead cross-organizational technology initiatives, ensuring alignment between teams and delivering results.
3.Collaboration & Empowerment
- Work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to align on technical execution.
- Empower team members through mentorship, documentation, and reusable libraries.
- Foster a positive and motivated team environment, celebrating successes and promoting shared goals.
4.Crypto & GenAI Expertise
- Bring a foundational understanding of cryptocurrency, Web3 concepts, and decentralized technologies to support Yellow Card’s mission.
- Leverage knowledge of generative AI (GenAI) to identify and implement AI-driven enhancements across the platform.
5.DevOps Excellence
- Implement and maintain strong DevOps practices, ensuring smooth CI/CD pipelines, scalable infrastructure, and robust monitoring.
- Drive improvements in system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

RequirementsTo excel in this role, you should have:Experience
- 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer/Developer.
- Proven experience as a technical lead engineer or similar role.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in AWS or similar cloud architectures (Google Cloud/Azure).
- Extensive knowledge of Node.js/TypeScript, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and languages.
- Solid understanding of event-driven architectures at scale.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and performant systems.
- Advanced DevOps skills, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
Crypto & GenAI Knowledge
- Base understanding of cryptocurrency and Web3 technologies.
- Good grasp of how generative AI (GenAI) works, including practical applications in engineering workflows.
Soft Skills
- Ability to lead and drive cross-organizational technology initiatives to completion.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and drive.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work independently while providing mentorship and guidance to team members.
