Cognicion LLC, a boutique eDiscovery services and information management provider is actively recruiting a skilled technology professional to be responsible for management of the company's litigation support and technology project teams. The role provides leadership in the planning and execution of litigation support projects including planning, best practices/procedures development, reporting, and staffing. Oversees the successful delivery of strategic, high quality eDiscovery projects to clients. Responsible for the improvement of internal delivery systems and the technical design and implementation of improvements to manage risks, priorities and expectations in a fast-paced, environment. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Supervises, trains, and manages the performance of technology client service team members to achieve maximum project effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Works with leadership team to develop project key performance indicators for maximum project profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Uses proven project management principles and practices, technical knowledge, and experience to plan, lead and coordinate deliverables through written communications (including workstream trackers and budget estimates), team meetings and regular communications with individual team members, consultants, and clients about the progress of matters.
  • Serves as liaison and consultant to clients and project teams for consulting on project strategy and best practices, recommended use of technology, and project pricing.
  • Identifies areas of improvement for project delivery efficiencies and client facing reporting. Develops and implements solutions to ensure efficient, defensible best practices and quality processes.
  • Provides employee feedback to drive performance and further develop individual career goals. Handles day-to-day personnel matters to include recruiting, hiring, discipline, evaluation and complaint resolution. Collaborates with Human Resources regarding performance counseling or other employment-related actions.
  • Identifies areas for project team training and skill development and works with leadership team to provide training.
  • Oversees plans for staffing and resource requirements.
  • Stays abreast of emerging industry best practices and tools to identify, evaluate and recommend ongoing enhancements to the organization’s protocols and procedures.
  • Advises on the selection of third-party hosting vendors and evaluating potential new technologies.
  • Ensures project-related documentation and records management procedures are maintained in accordance with organizational best practice standards. Tracks matters to ensure they stay on schedule, while coordinating client services manager and vendors, as needed.
  • Stays well versed in all phases of the EDRM, focusing most on the left side of the EDRM model, including preservation, collection, processing, ECA, Analysis and ultimately production.
  • Acts as an internal subject matter expert on a range of topics including processing, early case assessment, analytics, search indices and configuration of search terms.

  • MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related area.
    • 5 years of experience in a technology management position, or progressively more responsible supervisory and management experience on major litigation support projects, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with technical team members and project managers.
    • 5 years of experience working with the left side of the EDRM model, such as collections, data processing, analytics, load file manipulation and production creation. At least 2 of these years’ experience processing data in Relativity Server or RelativityOne, with prior experience processing data in Everlaw, Nuix, LAW, or other eDiscovery processing tools preferred.
    • Demonstrated success motivating, leading, and developing successful teams, developing individual team members, evaluating work performance and conducting performance appraisals, providing positive and constructive feedback, managing performance or other disciplinary issues.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


    • Demonstrated ability to produce on-time deliverables.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
    • Extensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, management and processing of electronically stored information (ESI) as they relate to legal matters, including the use of various ESI management tools and applications.
    • Relativity Master or Relativity Expert certifications preferred.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with both the legal and technical teams.
    • Expert experience with Microsoft Office Products.
    • Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools such as PowerBi preferred.
    • Up to date expertise on eDiscovery management trends including technology assisted review, predictive coding and understanding of impact of recent case law on project management processes.
