POSITION OVERVIEW


  • The Cultivation Manager owns all functions of the grow team for the Flower and Veg departments; ensuring our plants remain healthy, we remain on schedule, and our facility runs smoothly and efficiently. The Cultivation Manager will manage, coach, and mentor a team of supervisors and associates, create and maintain engagement, and develop positive partnerships with the production department and management team.  

AVAILABILITY


  • Full shift availability (nights, weekends, and holidays may be required)

COMPENSATION


  • $75,000 annually, Experience dependent

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensure the site is in full compliance with all local and state laws while assisting with regulatory inspections
  • Work cross-functionally through the operation and maintain a hands-on “lead by example” approach
  • Facilitate monthly and annual inventory audits of all plant and packaging areas
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed by all employees in the unit
  • Ensure all room/plant conditions are accurately monitored, recorded, and reported according to set protocols 
  • Enforce adherence to fertilization, irrigation, plant work and feed schedules
  • Identify common/rare plant, facility and/or equipment issues while reporting and fixing them in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper plant labeling, tagging, logging, and traceability both physically and in the state’s STS software
  • Monitor and ensure package testing protocols are properly followed prior to transfer
  • Assist in coordination for interdepartmental plant or material transfers
  • Partner with Procurement to order supplies and maintain cultivation supplies and equipment stocked
  • Direct and schedule all cleaning and IPM tasks according to protocol
  • Implement and manage all Company policies and procedures
  • Oversee the hiring, training, coaching, and development of employees 
  • Delegate, manage, and empower the team to achieve an optimal performance
  • Actively seek ways to improve systems, yields and quality
  • Align with the Director of Cultivation to set, meet, and manage all financial and operational goals 
  • Assist in any and all areas to ensure the team, department, and company division maintain success

QUALIFICATIONS


  • 21+ and currently residing in the USA 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or similar agricultural science (preferred)
  • Cultivation facility management experience, 4+ years (preferred)
  • Team building & management experience, 4+ years (preferred)
  • SOP development & documentation experience (preferred)
  • Proficient in MA cannabis policy & law (preferred)
  • Advanced cannabis knowledge including plant cultivation, diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, time-management, planning, & organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, critical thinker, problem solver, & assessor
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Dispensing Organization Agent Identification Card (obtained upon hire)

WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Fast-paced, warehouse-like, and rapid-changing environment
  • Manufacturing facility with industrially lit rooms and heavy machinery that may produce loud sounds
  • Indoor greenhouse environments and grow rooms with elevated temperatures and humidity
  • Plant pollen and extraction fumes may be present on surfaces and in the air 
  • Protective suits may be required (provided on site) 
  • Kneeling, squatting, lifting, bending, walking, pivoting, and long-term standing all expected activities
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • *NOTE:

    The facility contains confined spaces that may only be accessible by ascending/descending stairwells while traveling throughout building. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
