Job Description:


We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Engineering to lead our entire engineering organization in India. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be pivotal in delivering on our roadmap and driving innovation across all our SaaS products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of building and managing high-performing engineering teams to deliver impactful results aligned with business objectives.

This leader will be instrumental in fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Leadership & Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage multiple multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence across all engineering teams.
  • Set clear and ambitious goals, provide regular performance feedback, and support career development for team members, including upskilling initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR to attract, recruit, and onboard new engineering talent to meet the needs of the growing R&D organization.
  • Manage teams and resourcing effectively to meet business goals.
  • Execution & Delivery:
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of all engineering projects and product development initiatives by defining clear project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor and manage the progress of multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives product vision.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to project execution, ensuring that potential issues are addressed proactively.
  • Drive the QA team to improve overall product quality across all products.
  • Product Development & Technical Oversight:
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software and infrastructure across all product lines.
  • Provide technical vision, guidance, and direction to engineering teams, architects, and developers.
  • Ensure the development of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical assessments to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, including leveraging AI tools to increase team productivity and drive innovation.
  • Drive innovation with new tools and technologies, including AI, to enhance our products and engineering processes.
  • Define and evolve the overall technical roadmap in alignment with product strategy and business objectives.
  • Create plans to minimize technical debt while delivering new capabilities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Implement and champion best practices in project management, including Agile methodologies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with product management, marketing, sales, customer success, and other departments to ensure strong alignment on product development, delivery, and overall business goals.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Work closely with product management to provide accurate estimates and delivery timelines.
  • Customer Focus:
  • Manage ongoing customer needs, including overseeing technical support processes and custom development requests.
  • Ensure engineering efforts are aligned with delivering value to our customers.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in delivering SaaS applications and managing software development lifecycles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles overseeing multiple engineering teams.
  • Proven experience managing large, multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
  • Strong technical background with deep expertise in software development, architecture, and infrastructure.
  • Experience in building and scaling high-performance and reliable applications and systems in the Cloud (AWS or Azure preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience working within the e-commerce domain and understanding its unique technical challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience in building and leveraging AI technologies and tools to enhance products or engineering processes.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project/program management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
