Role Summary
Replit is seeking an Accountant to support our growing finance team in managing day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and enjoys building scalable processes. As an integral part of our finance function, you'll handle financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance while working cross-functionally to improve efficiency.
In this role you will…
- Own month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and manage financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Assist in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management.
- Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Complete payroll for employees and contractors
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., People Ops, Legal, and Engineering) on financial processes.
- Contribute to system improvements and automation efforts within the finance function.
Required skills and experience:
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a high-growth startup or SaaS company.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for financial modeling and analysis.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have:
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
- Experience with tax compliance, sales tax, and international accounting.
- Exposure to venture-backed startup financial operations.
- Experience automating finance workflows or implementing new accounting tools.
- Able to perform queries using SQL or experience with Python
