The Opportunity at Komodo Health:


The Sales Engineering team at Komodo Health partners with the Sales and Account teams to deliver best-in-class technical expertise for Komodo’s Life Sciences and Healthcare data, software, and services-focused customers and partners. This team is instrumental in understanding clients' unique needs and tailoring technical solutions that leverage Komodo’s most sophisticated offerings. By providing technical leadership in the sales process, the Sales Engineering team accelerates growth and ensures that our solutions effectively address customer challenges.The Sales Engineer role exists to provide technical support and enablement during the discovery, qualification, value alignment, and solution design stages of the sales cycle.

This role plays a key supporting function for Sr. Sales Engineers and Sales Representatives, ensuring that technical insights, data expertise, and solution design efforts are successful. You will assist in developing tailored solutions that showcase Komodo’s healthcare claims data, while collaborating with internal teams to improve efficiency and ensure client success.

  • Successfully support 5+ opportunities by providing technical support to Sr. Sales Engineers and Sales Reps.
  • Develop deep expertise in Komodo’s healthcare data assets, including Mx/Rx claims, Labs, EHR, and other data sets
  • Assist in creating technical templates, demo environments, and reusable assets to improve efficiency in common pharmaceutical use cases.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Sales Engineers to deliver tailored solutions that align Komodo’s data capabilities to pharmaceutical client needs.
  • Build strong relationships with internal sales teams, contributing to improved collaboration and client support.

These are the essential job duties you will be responsible for …


  • Support Senior Sales Engineers and Sales Representatives during discovery by helping gather technical requirements and documenting client needs.
  • Assist in conducting technical demonstrations that showcase Komodo’s platform capabilities.
  • Provide foundational guidance on healthcare claims data, including NDC codes, procedure codes, and claims lifecycle insights.
  • Assist in designing and customizing solutions that integrate Komodo’s data and software products.
  • Support the internal review process for technical proposals by ensuring documentation is accurate and aligned with internal processes.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Sales Engineers to ensure seamless handoffs and customer success.
  • Contribute to internal technical resources by developing templates, FAQs, and best practice guides.

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):


  • 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Support roles, preferably in healthcare technology or data services.
  • Experience assisting Sales teams in discovery, qualification, and technical enablement efforts.
  • Foundational understanding of healthcare claims data (e.g., 837/835 data, NDC codes, etc.) and life sciences commercial strategies.
  • Strong technical skills, including exposure to APIs, data integration, and cloud-based architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner with Sr. Sales Engineers and Sales Representatives.
  • Basic knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, or similar healthcare data regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of identity resolution and privacy-preserving linking technologies is a strong plus

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…


  • Experience in healthcare data and familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Familiarity with CRM software, like Salesforce, to track client interactions and engagement.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) or technical sales-related fields.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

#LI-RemoteThe pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of annual base pay that we reasonably expect to pay for this position within the US. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.The starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position is also eligible for commissions in accordance with a written agreement or plan.

This role may also be eligible for equity awards. In addition, this role is eligible for benefits including, but not limited to, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible time off and holidays; 401(k) with company match; disability insurance and life insurance; and leaves of absence in accordance with applicable state and local laws and regulations and company policy. San Francisco Bay Area and New York City: $128,000—$160,000 USDAll Other US Locations: $111,000—$140,000 USD

Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
