We are looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team in Toronto and help us build and scale the foundation of the company. As the Senior Accountant, you will be working with the leadership team to manage all accounting, bookkeeping, and reporting. You’ll be expected to wear many hats when working with the different parts of our organization, and as such, this is a role for natural problem solvers and team players.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the general ledger, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with ASPE and IFRS
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly/quarterly financial reporting package and provide insightful analysis to key stakeholders
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and all other core accounting functions
- Support the preparation of the company’s financial forecasts and annual budget process.
Who/What we're looking for:
- CPA designation and bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- 5+ years of finance/accounting experience at a major accounting firm and SaaS corporate/startup
- Broad experience with all aspects of accounting
- Positive, can do attitude, team player and passionate about entrepreneurship
- Strong technical accounting skills; thorough knowledge of GAAP, ASPE and IFRS
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models, metrics, and financial dynamics
- Exemplary spreadsheet / financial modelling skills (Excel and Google Sheets)
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (ideally Xero and Mosaic)
