About This Role


As a Senior Manager of Product Design for Vault Radar, you will lead a team of designers shaping the future of security experiences at HashiCorp. You will play a key role in defining and driving the experience vision for Vault Radar, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and usability across the Secure product portfolio. This role will require close collaboration with engineering, product management, and cross-functional partners to deliver seamless integrations across HashiCorp and IBM products.You will be responsible for growing and mentoring a team of designers, driving high-impact design initiatives, and advocating for user-centered decision-making.

While your primary focus will be on Vault Radar, your team’s work will extend into the broader Secure product group, influencing and aligning with the Helios Design System (HDS) and company-wide experience strategies.

What you’ll do (responsibilities):


  • Lead and Grow the Team: Manage, mentor, and scale a team of product designers focused on Vault Radar. Guide their career growth, provide regular feedback, and ensure high-quality execution.
  • Define and Maintain Experience Vision: Establish and evolve an end-to-end experience vision for Vault Radar, aligning with the broader Secure product strategy.
  • Drive Design Excellence: Ensure the team delivers high-quality, accessible, and consistent design solutions, leveraging the Helios Design System (HDS) and focusing on enterprise UX best practices.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with engineering, product management, research, and leadership to define roadmaps, priorities, and design strategies.
  • Advocate for the User: Champion user-centered design approaches, ensuring our security products remain intuitive, functional, and valuable to customers.
  • Strategic Influence: Represent design in executive updates, contributing insights and recommendations that shape the direction of Vault Radar and the Secure product portfolio.
  • Hiring & Scaling: Actively participate in hiring efforts, helping to grow a diverse, high-performing design team across regions, including potential global expansion.

What you’ll need (basic qualifications):


  • Experience leading design teams in enterprise software UX.
  • A deep understanding of user-centered design, accessibility best practices, and end-to-end experience strategy.
  • Familiarity with design systems, especially in maintaining consistency across complex enterprise applications.
  • The ability to help the team balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring designers can effectively translate vision into reality.
  • Strong collaboration skills with product and engineering peers, influencing decision-making and prioritization.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities to articulate design decisions to stakeholders, including executives.
  • Experience working on security, identity, or cloud infrastructure products is a plus.

Join us in shaping the future of security at HashiCorp!Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:$212,500—$250,000 USDThe base pay range for this role in California (excluding SF Bay Area), New York (excluding NYC), Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, Washington D.C., or Maryland is:$194,700—$229,100 USDThe base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro), Illinois, Minnesota, or Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:$177,100—$208,300 USD“HashiCorp is an IBM subsidiary which has been acquired by IBM and will be integrated into the IBM organization.
