THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Product Operations Manager to join our team for a 6-9 month engagement. In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing our product development processes, enhancing our program management capabilities, and ensuring smooth delivery of key initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and can quickly make a significant impact. You will work closely with the VP of Product Development to streamline operations and free up bandwidth for strategic priorities.We are looking for someone who will work in a Hybrid role in the Seattle/Bellevue, WA area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Jira Optimization: Conduct a comprehensive audit of our current Jira usage, identify areas for improvement, and propose and implement necessary changes to configurations, workflows, and processes. Leverage the Atlassian tool suite to enhance our higher-level program management capabilities.
- Program Management Support: Provide hands-on program management support for one or more critical product initiatives. This may include defining project scope, developing timelines, tracking progress, managing risks, and facilitating communication across teams.
- Process Improvement: Analyze existing product development and program management processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend and implement solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineering teams, design teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective collaboration throughout the product lifecycle.
- Tooling & Best Practices: Evaluate and advise on best practices for leveraging various program management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com) based on your prior experience.
- Technical Liaison: Utilize your technical background to effectively communicate with and support engineering teams, potentially assisting with technical program management tasks as needed.
- Startup Mindset: Apply your understanding of the challenges and opportunities within a startup environment to identify practical and resource-conscious solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years in Product Management, Program Management, or Product Operations roles.
- Extensive experience with Jira; deep understanding of Jira best practices including configuration, workflow management, and reporting.
- Experience using Jira for higher-level program management (e.g. Advanced Roadmaps, Marketplace Apps) and/or integrating Jira with another program management platform (e.g. Asana, Monday.com)
- Extensive experience with Program Management; deep understanding of best practices, experience with multiple tools/platforms.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, including testing, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Startup experience.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.
