About The Job


Self Financial is looking for a Business Risk Manager. This individual will report through the Risk team and will assist the business in the timely remediation of issues and the successful execution of change management practices. This role will facilitate both the centralized Issue Management process and the Enterprise Change Management framework, including: identification and prioritization of new issues, risk assessment, proactive control monitoring, and remediation planning—as well as coordination and governance of business changes across the enterprise.This person will be responsible for company communications related to both Issues and Change Management, including updates to leadership, stakeholders, and bank partners.

A successful candidate will have a strong background in issue and change management, risk identification, stakeholder influence and negotiation, written and oral communication, root cause analysis, and implementation planning.

What you will do:


  • Develop working relationships with key stakeholders to help influence issue remediation and change adoption
  • Plan, schedule, and track timelines and milestones for corrective actions, remediations, and change initiatives
  • Design stop-gap plans, remediations, and execution strategies for both issues and changes
  • Report regular status updates on issues and changes to Senior Management & stakeholders
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with business leaders, legal, compliance, and risk functions
  • Review incoming escalations and assess appropriate prioritization and ownership
  • Monitor urgent issues or changes and coordinate appropriate response and execution teams
  • Support and evolve best practices, templates, and documentation for Issue and Change Management processes

Who you are:


  • 5+ years of experience in Issue, Risk, or Change Management
  • 5+ years of experience in Credit Card or Financial Services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including Senior Management
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent, timely decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Risk Management, including risk identification, risk strategy, controls, and change governance
  • Experience driving high-priority cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution

Tools & Systems:


  • Atlassian Enterprise Suite (Jira, Jira Service Desk, Confluence, etc.)
  • G-Suite & Slack (or similar communication platforms)

Base salary range: $ 92,000 -$123,000 annually.  Individual pay is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and other job-related reasons.
