  Tenstorrent USA, Inc seeks Staff Engineer, Physical Design. This is a hybrid position requiring candidate to report in office 2600 Great America Way Suite 501, Santa Clara, CA 95054 with the option to work from home on certain days. Qualified candidates should live within commuting distance. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering (CE) and at least 5 years’ experience in a relevant field. In the alternative: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering (CE) and at least 3 years’ experience in a relevant field. Special Skills requirements: Knowledge of TCL and PrimeTime.

Job Duties:


A Physical Design Engineer (PDE) at Tenstorrent will optimize performance, power, area, and schedule of challenging ASIC designs. They will work closely with the front-end team to understand the SOC, CPU, and Tensix micro-architectures, and with foundry representatives to understand advanced technology implementation. A PDE is expected to work collaboratively with other members of the team and external partners across a wide variety of domains.PDE tasks may include construction and analysis of synthesis, PnR, memory compilation, clocking, timing, floorplanning, power delivery, DFx implementation, CDCs, VDCs, gate swapping, extraction, power usage, reliability checking, DRCs, ERCs, LVS, LEC, antenna checks, ECOs, and fill.

In the course of this work, a PDE might be asked to develop a CAD flow step, qualify a tool, run sweeps, deploy techniques for improving power or timing, drive PPA experiments with the RTL team, recommend partitioning strategy, or evaluate reliability tool results.#LN-DNICompensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets.
