Role Overview:
As a Sr. DevSecOps Engineer, you will be pivotal in embedding security practices into our development and operational processes. You will collaborate with developers, IT operations, and security teams to automate and enhance the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring the delivery of secure and robust applications. Your role will require you to stay ahead of emerging security threats, implement industry best practices, and safeguard our digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
CI/CD Pipeline Development & Enhancement:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate security checks and implement continuous testing and integration practices.
- Monitor and optimise pipeline performance to ensure swift deployment cycles.
Security Integration and Management:
- Integrate security tools and processes into the DevOps workflow.
- Implement and manage security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments regularly.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve security issues promptly.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and promote security best practices across departments.
- Engage with stakeholders to align security initiatives with business objectives.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and suggest improvements for security enhancements.
- Develop and deliver training sessions to upskill team members on DevSecOps best practices.
- Proactively drive process improvements and innovations to improve security posture.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or related fields, with a significant focus on security practices.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, security protocols, and compliance standards.
- Proven capability in automating security within the CI/CD pipelines and leveraging security tools.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified DevSecOps Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or equivalent are advantageous.
