Linux System Administrator, Level 1

What you will be doing!


As a Level 1 System Administrator, you will be responsible for deploying new servers and providing ongoing support for maintaining and enhancing infrastructure, as well as day-to-day troubleshooting. This role requires a candidate with technical expertise in administering the entire lifecycle of both Linux and Windows platforms.You will provide Windows engineering support to develop automation processes for building and patching Linux and Windows servers, as well as for implementing the Ansible Automation Platform in support of newly deployed systems.

Additionally, you will apply STE/STN compliance requirements to servers.Your role will involve collaborating with product owners across multiple teams and working alongside other engineers to troubleshoot issues within various systems and network environments. You will analyze recurring problems, initiate solutions to prevent their reoccurrence, and assess existing infrastructure for tuning and performance enhancements.

Job Description / Requirements: 


  • Support IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, perform system capacity analysis and planning, and troubleshoot shooting IT Systems.
  • Configure and manage operating systems and install/load operating system software; troubleshoot, maintain the integrity of, and configure network components; and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Leverage Ansible modules to monitor system health, identify issues, and implement automated remediation strategies.
  • Manage switch configuration and apply STE/STN compliance requirements to servers and network devices while supporting the 13 playbook. 
  • Very strong Linux (Red Hat/Rocky, CentOS) and Latte ‘Art for SSP, STE/STN support

Desired:


  • Puppet, Ansible, FreeIPA, RedHat KVM, XKS, Nifi, Raybird, NetApp support, JIRA, Confluence. Any scripting experience (Bash, Python, Perl, JSON, etc.)

Education and Experience:


  • Five (5) years’ experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. 
  • An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II baseline certification is required

Clearance Required:   Must possess an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role
