Trilogy Federal is seeking a Data Architect to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information & Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Service (PDS), Corporate Service Line. The ideal candidate will be a skilled technical expert with deep expertise in data architecture, enterprise asset management, and Agile practices, thriving in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. This role requires a collaborative, innovative professional to join our team, designing and implementing data solutions that enhance VA corporate IT systems, including legacy applications and DevSecOps-driven initiatives. The selected Data Architect must hold both an active Certified Maximo Deployment Professional certification and a Certified SAFe Agile Architect (SA) certification.

This position will focus on architecting data frameworks, leveraging IBM Maximo for asset management, and aligning solutions with VA’s Veteran-focused Integration Process (VIP) Lean-Agile framework to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient data ecosystems.

Please note this position is contingent upon award (Q2/Q3 2025), and may require occasional customer site visits in D.C.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement data architectures for VA corporate IT systems, ensuring seamless integration of IBM Maximo for enterprise asset management and operational efficiency. 
  • Develop data models, schemas, and governance frameworks that support legacy system sustainment and modern DevSecOps environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, SQL Server, Oracle Database). 
  • Leverage SAFe architectural principles to align data solutions with Agile Release Trains (ARTs), enabling incremental delivery and continuous improvement within the CCSS 2 program. 
  • Collaborate with Solution Leads, Cloud Engineers, and DevOps teams to integrate data architectures with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring data availability, integrity, and performance. 
  • Configure and optimize IBM Maximo deployments, tailoring data structures and workflows to meet VA-specific asset management and operational requirements. 
  • Ensure data solutions comply with VA security and privacy standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST 800-53, HIPAA), implementing encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms. 
  • Utilize VA-approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow) to document data designs, track changes, and contribute to Biweekly Status Reports on data architecture progress and risks. 
  • Provide technical leadership during Agile ceremonies (e.g., PI planning, sprint reviews), aligning data strategies with sprint goals and the VIP Lean-Agile framework. 
  • Support the integration of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) or big data analytics, into data architectures to enhance VA OIT’s modernization efforts. 
  • Work with VA stakeholders, including the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), to define data requirements, validate architectures, and deliver Veteran-centric solutions. 
  • Mentor team members on Maximo deployment, data architecture best practices, and SAFe principles, contributing to Trilogy’s staff development and technical excellence initiatives. 
  • Assess and mitigate risks related to data integrity, availability, and security, ensuring adaptability to evolving VA priorities and technical standards. 

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. 
  • Certified Maximo Deployment Professional and Certified SAFe Agile Architect (SA) certifications required. 
  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise asset management, or a related role, with a focus on federal or VA IT environments. 
  • Proven expertise in designing data solutions, deploying IBM Maximo, and applying SAFe methodologies in Agile settings, with hands-on experience in SQL, NoSQL, and cloud data platforms. 
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to balance data innovation, security, and scalability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 
  • Familiarity with VA security standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST, HIPAA) and the VIP Lean-Agile framework is highly desirable. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) and VA-approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow). 
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technical requirements and travel occasionally to VA sites in Washington, D.C., as needed. 
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s preferred
  • Additional certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate preferred.

$100,000 - $118,000 a yearThis range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands.
