We are seeking an experienced

Senior Audit Manager


for an upcoming opportunity with a large federal customer. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of current Commercial and Government-wide policies and regulations concerning accounting standards, auditing standards, financial reporting and financial management. Additionally, the candidate shall have current knowledge of accounting principles and standards to ensure the CFO Act and related issues are effectively addressed. This position is requires the candidate to work at the USCG HQ Located in Washington DC . 

Please note, this position is contingent upon award (likely April/May 2025)


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Provide support in the development and implementation of internal controls over budgetary resource management to remediate internal control weaknesses/gaps identified in the external audit and to align with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) control standards.
  • Planning, initiating, managing, executing, and closing out programs in support of an audit or financial management program.
  • Provide facilitation and support in areas of internal/external auditing and accounting.
  • Provide expertise and assistance in resolving audit deficiencies.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of consulting projects.
  • Interface with the client and manage project activities on a day-to-day basis.
  • Monitor the completion of project specific tasks, deadlines, and the budget.
  • Responsible for quality control reviews of the work product. 

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting OR a bachelor’s degree plus an active Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification.
  • 12 years of relevant work experience (5 of which must be federal government work experience). 
  • Experience auditing federal agencies financial statements OR performing audits readiness work in the Department of Homeland Security as a government employee or contactor directly in support of an audit readiness task order.  
  • The ability to obtain a Public trust
  • The ability to work onsite in Washington, D.C., Monday to Friday.

$110,000 - $130,000 a yearThis range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands. In addition to salary, Trilogy offers robust benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance coverage, 401(k) match, paid holidays, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and a very supportive work/life balance.
