Job Description


Grantek Systems Integration is seeking an experienced Director, Finance to lead our Finance function on a 12-18 month contract (Maternity Leave coverage). This role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, compliance, and strategic decision-making across our global operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, financial consolidation, and international taxation.   • Oversee financial accounting operations, including invoicing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost and revenue recognition
  • Manage and optimize month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions (Canada, US, some international)..
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct project analyses with District Leads to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and optimize working capital, cash flow, and cost control measures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and due diligence for business expansion into new markets.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 8 finance professionals (2 direct reports, 6 indirect reports), fostering a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
  • Support payroll processes, compensation analyses, and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Oversee financial system implementations and upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the VP, Finance on strategic initiatives, special projects, and financial decision-making.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging financial technologies to drive innovation within the finance function.

Qualifications


Must-Haves:


  • CPA designation (one or more of CPA, CA / CPA, CMA / CPA, CGA).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial reporting, corporate compliance, and corporate accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis abilities.
  • Experience leading and managing a finance team.
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry advancements.

Nice-to-Haves:


  • Experience in a professional services industry (e.g., engineering firm).
  • Experience with Sage Intacct.
  • Interest in integrating new financial tools and optimizing financial processes
