Full-timeDescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Market Development Manager with experience in antibody drug discovery to drive growth, expand market presence, and strengthen customer relationships. This strategic role focuses on managing and growing existing business, identifying new opportunities within key accounts, and securing new customers to accelerate revenue growth. The ideal candidate has a strong background in scientific research, business development, or sales and marketing and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Territory: East CoastPreferred Locations: Greater Boston MA or any large airport on the East Coast

Job Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Growth & Business Planning – Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion. 
  • Account Management & Expansion – Build and maintain strategic account plans, collaborate with global teams, and leverage market insights to drive business success. 
  • Sales Execution & Lead Generation – Consistently meet or exceed sales targets by optimizing account strategies, identifying high-value prospects, and converting leads into long-term customers. 
  • Executive-Level Engagement – Develop relationships with key stakeholders, from bench scientists to C-suite executives, positioning the company as a trusted partner. 
  • Solution-Based Selling – Present and demonstrate MaxCyte’s technology effectively, aligning solutions with customer needs to foster long-term partnerships. 
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis – Conduct in-depth customer and competitor research to uncover new opportunities and refine sales strategies. 
  • Sales Forecasting & CRM Management – Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline, provide accurate forecasts, and ensure thorough opportunity tracking. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, applications, and product management, to optimize customer success. 
  • Collaboration with Regional Teams – Partner with North American Business Development Managers to enhance commercial strategy and execution. 
  • Compliance & Leadership – Uphold company policies related to health, safety, and ethics while mentoring junior sales professionals.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: BS in Life Sciences or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of direct sales experience in companies that develop, market, and sell life science tools to biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and research markets.
  • Antibody Drug Discovery & Biotherapeutics – Experience in antibody discovery workflows, biotherapeutic development, and partnering with CDMOs and pharmaceutical companies. 
  • Capital Equipment & CDMO Sales – Proven success selling capital equipment ($100K+) to biotech and pharmaceutical accounts, including experience selling into CDMO accounts for protein production. 
  • Biopharmaceutical & Biotherapeutic Expertise – Experience working in the biopharmaceutical or biotherapeutic industry, particularly in antibody discovery and engineering. 
  • Sales & Business Development Experience – Background in sales, business development, licensing, or commercial business within biotherapeutics. 
  • Strategic Sales & Communication Skills – Ability to sell effectively at all levels, from technical users to senior executives. 
  • Established Industry Network – Strong relationships in protein production, cell therapy, immunology, cell biology, high-throughput and high-content screening. 
  • Sales Process Mastery – Expertise in managing complex sales cycles, driving opportunities through the pipeline efficiently. 
  • Scientific & Technical Knowledge – Strong understanding of Cell & Gene Therapy, cell line development, immunology, and transfection technologies. 
  • Entrepreneurial & Results-Oriented – Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, demonstrating strategic thinking and problem-solving. 
  • Customer-Centric Approach – Passion for building relationships, understanding customer needs, and driving long-term value. 
  • Travel Requirement – Up to 50% travel (domestic and international) to engage customers and drive business growth.
