The Quality Control Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of products throughout the manufacturing process. This involves performing various quality assurance activities, including inspections, sampling, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with established standards.The ideal candidate must have experience with performing mechanical and electrical inspections on control panels and have sufficient knowledge of the NEC codes.Requirements
- Investigate quality issues to identify corrective actions, ensuring their effective implementation.
- Assist the Quality Assurance Specialist in developing and updating procedures and work instructions to maintain compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and nonconformance investigations following Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) procedures.
- Collaborate with construction and engineering teams to resolve issues related to Building (EEC) and Electrical systems identified during inspections.
- Document inspection findings, providing detailed reports on I&E QA/QC activities, including non-conformities and corrective actions taken.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct internal process audits for the Quality Management System.
- Actively participate in internal and external audits, including customer audits and ISO surveillance/recertification audits by the registrar.
- Perform both mechanical and electrical inspections and tests, documenting all findings.
- Maintain open communication between production teams (shop floor) and Project Engineers/Management, ensuring continuous feedback and fostering continuous improvement actions.
- Ensure the calibration log is current and manage the coordination of calibration activities for testing equipment.
- Witness and validate the testing and commissioning of I&E systems before final acceptance and handover.
- Work closely with safety personnel to ensure that all I&E activities adhere to safety standards and are conducted in a safe manner.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and company regulations.
- Attend all required training, including refresher courses, to meet company and industry standards.
- Verify that all necessary testing equipment and tools are available, calibrated, and functioning correctly.
- Perform site inspections to support project quality requirements and identify any discrepancies or issues during inspections.
- Gather necessary records for the quality Turnover Package Submission and ensure project quality records and certification packages are maintained.
Skill Requirements
- Must have familiarity with NEC codes
- Be familiar with standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ASME, NEMA and API.
- Intermediate computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams).
- Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation engineering principles, including power distribution systems and testing methods (e.g., SWGR, MCC, SWBDS).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting P&ID’s, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using various measurement and test equipment for electrical and instrumentation inspections.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
- Experience inspecting electrical and instrumentation installations, including wiring, switchgear, control panels, and associated equipment.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments, delays, and unexpected events.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with project teams and contractors.
- Ability to manage and maintain inspection documentation and quality records accurately.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
Required Education and Experience
- 2+ years’ experience as a Quality Inspector, Testing Technician, or Production Process Lead in a facility with a certified QMS (ISO 9001, API, etc.)
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- American Society for Quality, Certified Quality Control Inspector (CQI) preferred.

- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk.
- Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
- Some lifting (up to 60 lbs.).
