Due to massive growth, we are looking to add an Exhibit Detailer to our events team.  In this position, you will work together with project teams and graphic designers to provide technical engineering plans for onsite installation of various exhibits.    You will report directly to the Manager of Production.  Position can be done remotely Salary is $65,000-75,000

What You’ll Do: 


  • Draw 3D technical plans in accordance with Nth Degree/Fern company guidelines for our Tradeshow and Activation client projects
  • Work closely with designers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure accurate representation and feasibility of exhibit designs.
  • Address any design challenges and recommend solutions that maintain the design integrity while staying within budget and timeframe constraints.
  • Create detailed construction drawings for onsite use.  Structures must have accurate measurements, labeled parts (with materials and finish specs called out), electrical requirements, rigging call outs and any lighting needs.
  • Create electric, network, rigging and lighting plans for inclusion with service orders.
  • Provide technical support in preparing installation guides, setup instructions, and graphic layouts for trade shows.
  • Work with engineering contact for exhibit structural analysis and safety issues, if required
  • Certain projects may include overtime work
  • Organize and manage CAD files, ensuring accurate documentation and easy retrieval for future projects.
  • Manage all updates and revisions to drawings throughout the process
  • Create 3D technical plans for existing builds where those plans do not already exist.

Who You Are:


  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and fabrication techniques with the ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, including technical specs and material requirements.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling in current version of AutoCAD. Experience with 3DSMax or other 3D software a plus.
  • Knowledge of graphic production and layout, including working with client-provided artwork for placement in exhibit structures.
  • Experience with graphic design programs such as Creative Suite/Illustrator is preferred
  • Experience with Aluvision, beMatrix, and custom fabricated exhibit structures and strong understanding of modular exhibit systems, aluminum extrusion profiles, and custom fabrication methods including CNC cutting, welding, and assembly of exhibit structures.
  • Experience preparing shop drawings, build documents, and material lists for production teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot design and engineering issues related to exhibit builds and graphics integration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in drawings and layouts.
  • Minimum four years’ experience working in exhibit fabrication or custom retail space
  • Associate degree or training in an Architectural, Mechanical drafting or Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) field of study from a college or trade school 
  • Be able to provide relevant drawings of previous work
