General The MIA Flight Logistics Coordinator is a full-time position based at the Miami International Airport (MIA), and the individual must be local to this work location. This role is crucial for supporting daily flight operations and ensuring the smooth coordination of services for each flight. The coordinator will report directly to the Flight Operations Duty Manager and will work 40 hours per week to ensure successful flight departures and arrivals.
Duties and Responsibilities- Act as a key liaison between the Ground Handling Department and the Operations Control Center, coordinating, supervising, and following up with external operations partners such as designated handlers, fuel providers, caterers, cleaning services, security, and others to ensure smooth operations.
- Gather and verify all necessary information to ensure the seamless operation of each flight and confirm services are arranged in advance.
- Support daily flight operations by ensuring the timely delivery of all contracted services.
- Assist dispatchers in maintaining operational control, including transmitting passenger flight manifests and generating GENDECS (General Declaration Forms).
- Relay ground handling requests and operational schedules to downline stations, keeping them updated on flight status and changes.
- Coordinate flight-related information and delays with office staff and stations to maintain effective communication.
- Review and confirm all details for the next day’s ground handling, catering, and special services, ensuring all aspects are prepared.
- Follow up with stations regarding any irregularities, service failures, or issues to ensure prompt resolution.
- Assist flight dispatchers in disseminating critical flight information, such as diversions or emergencies.
- Notify all internal departments and relevant stations of any flight delay information.
- Secure gate and ramp parking assignments in coordination with the local ground handling team.
- Coordinate fueling arrangements with local vendors for flight departures.
- Assist in coordinating aircraft movement and placement at the home base.
- Report all daily departing flights to Airport Authorities to ensure compliance with regulations.
- For international flights and non-terminal operations, transmit all Domestic and International APIS (Advanced Passenger Information System) data to Customs and address any discrepancies with CBP and APIS programs.
- Provide support to Dispatch with phone calls, flight tracking, abnormal operations, and other duties as necessary.
- Communicate aircraft movement details to destination stations to ensure proper coordination.
- Maintain flexibility in daily responsibilities and provide operational support as needed to ensure the successful completion of each flight.
- Perform any additional tasks as required to support flight operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
Qualification Requirements- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must successfully pass all pre-employment testing, including drug screening and a physical examination.
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
- The position may involve managing long queues and high traffic periods.
- Duties may include both desk-based tasks and movement around the airport.
- A uniform is required as part of the role.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
