Title: Sr. Actuarial Associates
Employer: VIAC Services Company (Venerable)Location: West Chester, PAJob Description: Support Finance and Risk with valuation, hedging, assumptions, RBC, capital projections, investment risk and analytics. Apply actuarial techniques and business knowledge to effectively perform day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision and be fully responsible for completion of actuarial deliverables. Suggest improvements to existing processes and independently solve problems. Gather data and inputs, produce calculations, prepare documentation, thoroughly review own work, investigate odd results, and summarize, communicate, and present results to senior team members or to a broader team.
Communicate with both internal and external auditors, actuarial outsourcing partners, and other vendors. Work with Excel, databases, actuarial projection and valuation software, and programming tools including R, VBA, and SQL. Apply knowledge of insurance products, regulations, or insurance company structure including pricing, modeling, valuation, risk management, inforce management, experience studies, and hedging to make informed decisions.Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Risk Management, Analytics, or closely related field and minimum 1 year of actuarial experience.
Experience must include working with insurance products profitability analysis and pricing; improving and optimizing actuarial processes and reflecting appropriate controls; analyzing and proposing solutions for technical actuarial issues; working with Excel, databases, and actuarial projections to analyze data and summarize results for management presentations; using VBA, R and SQL to conduct data analysis and automate processes; documenting complex actuarial processes; preparing and presenting actuarial topics to senior leaders; conducting analysis of the effect of external factors including regulatory environment to insurance product profitability; and completion of at least four Society of Actuaries exams towards ASA designation.#LI-DNI
