Compliance Manager


The Compliance Manager, reporting to the Nodal Exchange Managing Director of Compliance, will play an important role in overseeing all compliance activities of the Exchange. The Compliance Manager, along with Compliance Analysts, will monitor the activities performed on Nodal Exchange to ensure compliance with Exchange rules. The Compliance Manager will work with the Surveillance, Compliance and Legal Teams on compliance and regulatory matters subject to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (“CFTC”) jurisdiction. 

Position Responsibilities 


  • Implement programs, policies, and practices to ensure that all business units’ activities comply with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor trading activity and identify potential violations of Exchange rules.
  • Lead inquiries and investigations to enforce Exchange rules.
  • Lead audits to ensure CFTC compliance.
  • Assists the Exchange in contact with primary regulator, the CFTC, as well as several foreign regulators and various industry associations such as FIA and NFA.
  • Enforce financial and trade practice requirements.
  • Ensure issues are identified, fully investigated and promptly escalated in a timely manner.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management. 
  • Prepare regulatory filings.   
  • Manage compliance policies and procedures.

Preferred Professional Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business area (i.e., Finance, Economics, Accounting, etc.). 
  • A minimum of five - seven years of related experience in compliance or surveillance.
  • Experience performing market surveillance to identify and investigate market manipulation, front running, spoofing, wash trading, etc.
  • Established knowledge of futures industry rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience initiating and completing high quality reviews. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple matters at once and complete them in an organized and timely manner.
  • Motivated self-starter and leader with a positive attitude. 
  • Experience working for an exchange, self-regulatory organization, registered or regulated entity, or trading organization.
  • Experience with trading, energy, commodities, securities, derivatives, CFTC, NFA, SEC or FINRA.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment addressing complex compliance issues without compromising work quality.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as cooperatively in a team environment.

Salary Range: $130k - $170k per year base salary, when annualized


Pay Transparency Notice: The salary range is based on the D.C. metro area, the successful candidate’s starting salary will vary depending on permissible, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, and experience.
