The Alliance Manager/Sr Manager is responsible for managing external partnerships critical to the success of strategic projects and initiatives. You will develop and implement integrated project plans, identify and mitigate risks, and facilitate communication among stakeholders to ensure transparency regarding project commitments and progress.To be successful in this role, you should have prior experience in alliance management, with a focus on precision medicine, companion diagnostics (CDx), clinical biomarkers, and IVD development for oncology.

 Candidates transitioning out of academia will be considered.This role may require travel and a periodic onsite presence with strategic partners.  Candidates should be located in the Northeast Corridor: Boston, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; or Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement integrated project plans, mitigate risks, and facilitate communication among stakeholders to ensure transparency of project commitments and progress.
  • Organize and lead team meetings to drive project progress, identify risks, and promote collaboration.
  • Collaborate with department managers and senior leadership to prioritize resources and meet project objectives within timelines.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with Alliance Partners, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Engage cross-functional teams and partner leaders to ensure alignment with departmental goals and drive project advancement.
  • Provide comprehensive project management oversight throughout all phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
  • Use project management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Smartsheet, MS Project) to create timelines, track progress, and report on project status.
  • Monitor milestones, develop recommendations, and escalate key decisions to Senior Management as needed.
  • Manage meeting logistics, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute-taking.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners and communicate project information to internal teams.
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts or escalate issues to management for timely resolution.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Biology, Molecular Biology, or Chemistry preferred); advanced degree is a plus.
  • Ideally, 7-10 years of experience in Alliance Management, Product Development, or Project Management.
  • Proven project management experience: PMP certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
  • Willingness to participate in meetings across different time zones with global partners.
  • Solid understanding of the global molecular diagnostic market and the pharmaceutical drug development lifecycle.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts and agreements.
  • Demonstrated leadership, urgency, and conflict management skills in managing cross-functional teams.

  • This role may require 20-30% travel.
