We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Automation Engineer ( Laboratory) with expertise in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing, optimizing, and automating workflows to advance our NGS capabilities. As an integral member of our team, you will work closely with cross-functional groups to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and precision of our sequencing technologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement automated liquid handling systems for NGS assays
- Translate and optimize manual processes onto automated platforms
- Provide training and technical support for operations during deployment of new methods
- Author and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and quality documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain and manage instrument configuration documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ and SOP).
- Complete quality documentation reports and ensure all regulatory and internal standards are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology or related field.
- 3+ years of laboratory automation engineering experience required.
- Strong Experience in programming and developing automated systems for assay development on Hamilton using Venus Software, experience with scheduling software.
- Familiarity with lab automation tools, instrumentation (e.g., Agilent, Bio-Rad, Thermofisher), and software (e.g., BIOlims).
- Familiarity with barcoding, labware management, and traceability tools.
- Experience in process development and scaling in a laboratory and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Facilities, and Operations teams.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to document technical processes clearly.
- Experience with technology transfer and vendor management.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and configuration management.
