Job Description:


As the SOC Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-performing team focused on delivering engineering support for a growing MDR provider. This role requires a self-motivated and technically adept individual with strong system troubleshooting skills and a passion for mentoring others. You will serve as a technical leader and point of contact for both your team and clients, ensuring the stability, performance, and optimization of their systems through effective remote monitoring and management.  You will be responsible for communicating directly with clients to address their system administration and troubleshooting needs, offering expert insight and hands-on solutions.

A significant part of your role will involve leading the design and implementation of best-practice configurations and customized solutions across key platforms such as RSA NetWitness, Microsoft Sentinel, Palo Alto Cortex XDR, and Exabeam. Additionally, you will oversee ongoing system maintenance, manage upgrades, and ensure timely resolution of technical issues. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine strategic leadership with deep technical engagement in a fast-paced and impactful environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage SOC Engineering support for SIEM, packet capture, and log aggregation technologies.
  • Manage the administration, upgrade, and support of a variety of systems including onsite with customer when required.
  • Interface directly with customers to understand their needs and provide timely, accurate solutions.
  • Provide leadership of IT systems, networking, domains, and enterprise applications.
  • Provide leadership and insight for Lumifi engineering by creating, identifying, influencing, and sharing best practices across the engineer design, build and run lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with your colleagues to advance technical research and develop thought leading research.
  • Manage engineering security and knowledge of network security, cloud networking and engineering security technology ecosystems.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • 6 + years administering, upgrading, and supporting a variety of systems (Linux, Windows, Azure).
  • Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent experience with a concentration in engineering, cybersecurity, information technology and three (3) years industry experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience managing/training engineers.
  • Experience with administration of SIEMs, NDR, and/or EDR solutions: inclusive of Exabeam, RSA NetWitness, Azure Sentinel, and/or Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Carbon Black, Sentinel One, and/or Extrahop.
  • Ability to identify system faults, triage, troubleshooting, and lead issues through to resolution.
  • Ability to react quickly, decisively, and deliberately in high stress situations.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled at communicating, building, and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Highly motivated, organized, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel to client/customer sights and to attend events and conferences as needed
