Lead Software Engineer
, the Senior Software (Ruby) Engineer - UGC will work closely with other engineers of varying disciplines (DevOps, QA, Front-End ReactJS, Full-Stack Ruby, etc), product, data science as well as other parts of the organization. They will be a seasoned Ruby on Rails developer, leading new feature development and evolving our technology. We are always looking to adopt modern technology to solve business challenges. As a SeniorSoftware (Ruby) Engineer - UGC at 1WorldSync, responsibilities include the following:
- Identify and solve important technical problems, collaborating with front-end, QA, product, devops and UX teammates in an agile development environment.
- Share ownership and establish expertise on large sections of our codebase while identifying, learning, and applying a variety of technologies and working in the AWS ecosystem.
- Promote high quality code both through leading by example and by mentoring engineers via pairing, design review, and extensive participation in code reviews.
- Reduce the complexity of our code base, infrastructure, and production operations in order to get more done with less work.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years experience working with the Ruby on Rails framework
- 3+ Years Frameworks: Rails, TailwindCSS, React.js
- 3+ Years Databases: PostgreSQL, Neo4J Graph Database, ElasticSearch, Snowflake
- 2+ Years of experience with AWS: RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, ElastiCache/Redis, EMR, Lambda, Cloudfront, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, ECS/Docker, Linux
- 2+ Years of experience with Developer/DevOps tools: Jenkins for CI and Deployment, Sumologic, Datadog, Git
Desired Skills and Experience:
- SQL and ActiveRecord
- CSS/JS
- Interest in Elm or Kotlin
Compensation:
- $115,000 - $125,000 base salary.
- This role is eligible for an annual discretionary corporate bonus.
- Candidates can expect salary offers that range from the minimum to the midpoint of the salary range.

Additional Details:
- This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days per week at our Chicago headquarters location.
- This role requires the candidate to have the authority to work in, and be located in the US.
- This position requires up to 10% travel.
