Leveraging its extensive industry knowledge and proven technology portfolio, Xpansiv assists companies seeking to identify and mitigate risk, streamline the management of their environmental assets, and comply with regulations, caps and commitments.Position Summary:Xpansiv is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our team and assist in enhancing the documentation and technical elements of our suite of APIs that support our technology platform. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with Xpansiv’s Product, Development, and Testing teams to gain hands-on experience working in API development, documentation, and automated testing.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the development, QA, and product teams to gather requirements, understand API functionalities, and ensure that documentation and testing tools meet the needs of all stakeholders.
- Update Documentation: Review and update existing API documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Identify gaps or areas for improvement and ensure consistency across all API documentation resources.
- Provide Sample Payloads: Develop and provide sample payloads for various API endpoints to help developers understand and utilize the APIs effectively.
- Develop Automated Testing Tools: Create and implement automated testing tools to support regression testing of the APIs. Ensure that the testing tools are robust and can identify potential issues in the API functionality.
- Conduct Testing: Perform manual and automated testing of the APIs to ensure they function as expected. Report any issues or discrepancies and work with the development team to resolve them.
- Assist in Training: Help develop training materials and attend training sessions for internal teams and clients to ensure effective use of the APIs and related tools.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of API development and documentation.
- Experience with programming languages or tools such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Postman.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work remotely/virtually across time zones with various groups and cultures.
