Position Summary
PMA has immediate openings for a full-time multi-year position of Project Manager/Owner’s Project Manager to support building rehabilitation and new construction projects, utility projects, industrial-use projects, research labs, and/or parking garage projects in the metro Boston area. The successful candidate(s) will work closely with the existing PMA OPM team and be physically located on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects through all phases in a project life cycle, from inception to closeout. Other typical responsibilities include routinely following up on action items, attending meetings with the client and generating meeting minutes, assisting project staff (consultants and client personnel), developing and preparing progress reports and presentations, and performing other duties required to support the client and project(s).
This is a multi-year full-time role. The successful candidate will be assigned to the client's office. A hybrid work schedule will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis with heavy Client influence.
This individual will support the client in the following areas:
- Solicitation of Request for Qualifications (RFQs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) for both Design Consultants and General Contractors.
- Prepare, coordinate, and review consultant and/or General Contractor RFQs/RFPs.
- Assist in coordinating and securing all necessary internal and external project approvals.
- Provide technical and professional assistance in ranking and evaluating proposals.
- Drive the contract and fee negotiation process for A/Es or GCs.
- Work in conjunction with the consultants during the design phase to ensure adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Manages the consultant, contractor, and engineering services during the construction phase.
- Manages the various key stakeholders and project participants through construction and project completion.
- Provides supervision and technical guidance to assistant project managers, engineers, resident engineers, and support staff on assigned projects.
- Responsible for the project schedule and project budget, in tandem, through all phases of the project’s life cycle.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field required.
- 5+ years of related experience working as part of a project team.
- Experience in project design and construction elements is strongly preferred.
- Availability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, as necessary, required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand plans and specifications, required.
- Exceptional ability to remain organized and handle multiple action items simultaneously required.
- Proficiency in using MS Excel and managing MS SharePoint.
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams required.
- Working knowledge of PMWeb or Procore preferred.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar software preferred.
- Ability to pass a security background check required.
- Experience and working knowledge with higher education preferred.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
