For more information, please visit?www.gencap.com.RequirementsPA is seeking an EDI Developer with experience in performing necessary EDI related tasks and knowledge of Gentran or similar software. They will work with our internal IT team, business process team, project coordinators, and other internal and external stakeholders to transform business requirements into solutions that enhance our support of customer needs and reduce manual workload on our internal users.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:· Support the organization’s goals for business development, service delivery and continuous improvement through consistent processes, technology, and human resources management.· Coordinate the receipt and submission of documents electronically in a form that can be integrated with application systems and act as a liaison with the operations, and the IT team in the resolution of EDI issues.· Under administrative direction, oversees and performs all tasks required regarding EDI functions.
Working with the application development team, provides information and coordinates the information received or sent electronically.· Coordinates with trading partners to determine communications channel, trading partner agreements, document versions and content.· Utilizing Gentran (or applicable software), creates trading partner profiles, application definitions and transaction maps.· Creates any necessary interface files and detailed test plans for approved mapping documents.· Tests communication connections and mapping process; assists with technical problems or requests.· Prepare EDI map and trading partner data for migration to production environment and provide post live date system and user support.· Responsible for individual project management including on-time delivery and quality of product.· Documents development activity including help text, testing requirements and results, programmers' comments, and object descriptions.· Supports and participates in User training.· Maintains professional knowledge in respective area and keeps abreast of current trends/developments.· Performs in a manner to meet or exceed requirements of the IT programming standards, IT procedures and task monitoring system.· Responsible for conforming to procedures and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook.· Responsible for promoting an atmosphere of non-discrimination.
The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.· Responsible to maintain and support Company standards and requirements as specified in the Quality Management System.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:· Knowledge of IBM's iSeries Servers.· Knowledge of ANSI X12, EDIFACT, cXML structures and standards, such as purchase orders, change orders, invoices, shipping notifications, and functional acknowledgments.· Knowledge of EDI translation software, such as IBM's Sterling Gentran.· Knowledge of XML translation software, such as Precisely's (formerly Townsend Security’s) Alliance/XML.· Familiar with communications protocols such as FTP, SFTP, FTPS, and HTTP.· Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with trading partners and application development staff to relate requirements for the interchange of electronic data.· Four years of EDI & cXML support experience or equivalent training.· Ability to acquire new skills and technical knowledge.· Skill in written and oral communications
