The Manager, Retail Operations will oversee operations of both existing and new Community Hubs, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and scalability. They will be responsible for building, guiding and supporting Retail Operations while implementing systems, processes, and best practices to optimize performance.
As a key member of the Community Hub team, this role will be hands-on, leading initiatives related to daily operations, inventory management, payroll, productivity and profitability. The Manager will support both new store openings (NSOs) and ongoing operations in existing Hubs to drive efficiency and improve sales performance. This role reports directly to the SVP of Community Hubs and is a strategic partner to senior leadership.
What You’ll Do:
- Retail Performance & Standards
- Maintain and optimize performance tools, including Shopify, Stocky, internal reporting, and future tools as implemented.
- Regularly evaluate store operations and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Support company initiatives and strategies, provide recommendations, and train and implement as necessary
- Ensures impeccable back-of-house standards and processes are trained to and adhered to in stores
- Own the operational training process and platform for General Managers. Train the trainers.
- New Store Openings
- Manage the NSO budget, including supplies, IT equipment, PIPP, systems, and vinyls, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Analyze spending and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Responsible for cross-functional communication from pre-opening to post-opening
- Manage the new store opening process of receiving shipment and setting up BOH, store systems, and operational trainings for new store team
- Present the technology footprint for all store initiatives: NSOs, Mobile and existing Community Hubs
- Uphold vendor relationships to ensure proper installs mitigating issues and risks to timelines
- Support onsite as needed throughout the NSO process
- Responsible for leading store operations training during new store openings inclusive of systems, policy and procedure review, etc.
- Partner with SVP/Merch in coordinating small scale layout improvements such as fixture updates and special project installs
- Policy And Procedures
- Manage/establish updates and training related to the Retail Policy and Procedure, BOH SOP’s and company operational standards / practices
- Ensure all retail operational policies and procedures are established, modified as needed and adhered to
- Store Facilities
- Work closely with Community Hub Project Manager in reference or tickets and timely resolution to issues
- Maintain status update of costs and review with SVP of Community Hubs
- Financial
- Ensure stores control store operational expenses and keep accurate records i.e. store supply budget & NSO budget
- Ensure proper procedures are being met in reference to cash (cash pick up), credit cards, and petty cash
- Manage and maintain inventory controls in reference to physical inventory, stock adjustments, cycle counts, reconciliation, and other duties
- Work with Merch/Inventory Planning and Data team to resolve inventory issues/answer questions to support
- Report on shrink, damages, known loss for stores and the impact on inventory each month and at the end of every year
- Support DTC and Store Management with the scheduling and coordination of inventory and cycle counts.
- Provide support and training to stores as it relates to proper inventory preparation.
- Assist store teams in reconciling inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate monthly cycle counts are completed and negative on-hands reconciled weekly
- Partner with Inventory Planning team and support RTVs and Transfers as necessary
- Asset Protection
- Support asset protection in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, inter-store communication, and audits.
- Support training in asset protection
- Train retail team on the pos system and all in-store technology
- Partner with Engineering and Systems Applications partners to ensure efficiency and use of all in-store technology
- Support stores on training of new system roll-outs
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in retail operations, multi-store management, or retail project management, preferably in a high-growth or specialty retail environment.
- Proven expertise in inventory management, operational process improvement, and financial controls.
- Strong proficiency in retail systems and tools (e.g., Shopify, Stocky, POS systems, workforce management software).
- Experience leading new store openings, including cross-functional coordination, budgeting, and operational setup.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical ability with impeccable attention to detail
- Experienced in project management tools and methodology
- Proven communication skills with cross-functional partners and executive audiences
- Self-starter with strong desire to spend time in stores understanding stakeholder impact
- Travel to Retail Store locations and NSOs, required
- Preferably located within a commutable distance to our Los Angeles or Philadelphia based retail store

Pay Range
- At FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role's base salary range is between $100,000 and $125,000. Actual base salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
