Job Summary:
In this role, you will design electromechanical assemblies, mechanisms, and large structures – following designs through their full lifecycle. Successful candidates use their creativity and engineering knowledge to develop innovative mechanical solutions as we push the edges of high-power microwave technology. You will have a hands-on role in designing, building, and testing mechanical designs ranging from small electronics packages to large actuated systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build RF-phased array structures and electronic packages as part of a cross-functional product design team.
- Design harnesses, cables, and interconnects for large electronics assemblies and vehicle-mounted systems.
- Perform thermal and structural analyses to validate designs.
- Create CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Collaborate with the operations team to build and manufacture products and drive quality with speed and accuracy.
- Develop and execute environmental testing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to design complex mechanical assemblies in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of relevant experience including hands-on design and build
- Experience with CAD and drawing creation
- Demonstrated comfort with hands-on build and test of mechanical systems.
- Demonstrated experience in applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience designing harnesses or cables for complex electronic systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization and in multidisciplinary design teams.
- Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. COMPENSATION:
Pay range:
- Associate Mechanical Engineer/Level I: $83,000.00 - $94,000.00/per year
- Mechanical Engineer/Level II: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is: $83,000—$115,000 USD
